Drag Flails (Trincione Range)

The Drag Flails range (Ceccato’s Trincione line) are professional tractor-mounted flail mowers designed for cutting and mulching grass, weeds, crop residues, orchard prunings, roadside vegetation, and even small shrubs. They attach via the tractor’s three-point hitch and are powered by the PTO.

All models share a heavy-duty rotor equipped with hammer flails (sometimes knives), a rear roller for height control, and strong steel housings. These machines are built in Italy to CE safety standards and are well known for their durability, robust gearboxes, and versatile use across fields, vineyards, olive groves, road verges, and embankments.

The Trincione / Drag Flails are offered in Light, Medium-Light, Medium-Heavy, and Heavy versions. The main differences lie in cutting width, tractor power required, frame strength, and available features.

1. Light Series

• Tractor power: ~20–35 HP
• Working widths: around 120 cm
• Features: lighter frames, smaller rotors, simpler hitches (often fixed), hammer flails for grass and light vegetation
• Best for: small tractors, gardens, paddocks, light maintenance of grass and small prunings

2. Medium-Light Series

• Tractor power: ~35–45 HP
• Working widths: 140–160 cm
• Features: stronger double-skin housings, heavier flails (~0.8 kg), hydraulic or manual side-shift options, reinforced bearings
• Best for: regular field work, vineyards, orchards, handling denser vegetation

3. Medium-Heavy Series

• Tractor power: ~45–55 HP
• Working widths: up to 180 cm
• Features: heavier frames, manual or hydraulic shift, bigger rotors, stronger belts, and wider rear rollers
• Best for: tougher grass, thicker crop residues, larger paddocks, or semi-professional use

4. Heavy Series

• Tractor power: 50–70+ HP
• Working widths: 140–180 cm and above
• Features: reinforced double housings, very heavy hammer flails (~1.2 kg each), large rollers, robust side skids, powerful gearboxes
• Best for: demanding professional use — road verges, embankments, municipal work, and heavy growth
