The GRX Sorting Grabs (EG model) are the dedicated GRX configuration for sorting, handling and moving loose or irregular materials with mini and midi excavators. Within the GRX family, the EG sorting grab is positioned alongside the log and tined grab variants, offering the same overall platform benefits—maximum flexibility and exceptional performance—but with a design tailored to sorting-type tasks where a more enclosed gripping profile is useful. Like the rest of the GRX range, it’s intended for compact machines while still delivering strong handling capability.

Intermercato GRX Sorting Grab
In terms of build, the EG sorting grab follows the GRX “light and strong” concept. The brochure specifies that the GRX series uses SSAB steels, with the body made from Strenx® 700 high-strength structural steel and the claws made from Hardox® 450 wear-resistant steel. The body is also bent in one piece, designed to avoid unnecessary welding and help maintain strength while keeping weight under control—supporting the GRX focus on maximum strength with ideal weight.
A major feature of the EG sorting grab is its emphasis on safety and controlled operation. The brochure highlights that a check valve is standard on GRX 15 EG, 20 EG, 25 EG and 30 EG models, helping to improve load security during handling. In addition, an accumulator is optional on GRX 20 EG, 25 EG and 30 EG, providing further support for stable hydraulic performance depending on the configuration and working conditions. It also mentions a wide, bent safety sheet metal plate in Strenx® 700 under the body, reinforcing protection beneath the grab.
Finally, the EG sorting grab is designed for easy integration across different attachment setups. The brochure notes a universal hole pattern, making it compatible with tilt rotators using angled excavator attachments, direct mounting of RMR compact rotators, and Intermercato WDR worm drives. Approved Hydraulics provides warranty coverage against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for the periods below, subject to the conditions in this policy.
A. Two-year warranty (24 months)
A 2-year warranty applies to selected products or product lines as stated on the quotation, order acknowledgement, invoice, product datasheet, packaging or website.
B. One-year warranty (12 months) – conditional
A 1-year warranty applies to products not covered by the 2-year warranty, and/or to certain items where coverage is subject to conditions such as correct installation, commissioning, maintenance, and use (see Section 5).
Important: The warranty period that applies to a specific item is the one explicitly stated on the sales documentation or product literature for that item.

What is a breather cap?
A breather cap allows air to enter or exit the reservoir as fluid levels change, without letting contaminants in. Some include filters to trap airborne particles or moisture.
What is preventive maintenance in hydraulics?
Scheduled checks and service tasks (e.g., inspecting hoses, changing filters, checking oil) to prevent unexpected failures, extend system life, and reduce downtime.
